What we believe

Statement of Faith

The Word of God

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God, fully inspired and without error, written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit and that it has supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct. (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

The Trinity

We believe that there is one living and true God, eternally existing in three persons, that these are equal in every divine perfection, and that they execute distinct but harmonious offices in the work of creation, providence, and redemption. (1 Peter 1:2; 1 John 5:7)

God the Father

We believe in God, the Father, an infinite, personal spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love.  We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1; 1 Corinthians 8:6)

Jesus Christ

We believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only begotten Son, conceived by the Holy Spirit.  We believe in His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, and teachings.  We believe in His substitutionary atoning death, bodily resurrection, ascension into heaven, perpetual intercession for His people, and personal visible return to earth. (Galatians 4:4-5; John 1:1-14)

The Holy Spirit

We believe in the Holy Spirit who came forth from the Father and Son to convict the world of sin, righteousness, and judgment, and to regenerate, sanctify, and empower all who believe in Jesus Christ.  We believe that the Holy Spirit indwells every believer in Christ and that He is an abiding helper, teacher, and guide. (John 14:16-26; John 16:7-15)

Regeneration

We believe man was created in the image of God but fell from grace with original sin.  We believe that all men are sinners by nature and by choice and are, therefore, under condemnation.  We believe that those who repent of their sins and trust in Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (Romans 3:23-26; Romans 10:9-10)

The Church

We believe in the universal church, a living spiritual body of which Christ is the head and all regenerated believers are members.  We believe in the local church, consisting of a company of believers in Jesus Christ.  We believe that the local church and local parachurch organizations can and should work together to fulfill the Great Commission of Christ (Hebrews 10:24-25; 1 Corinthians 1:2; Romans 12:4-5; Matthew 28:16-20)

Christian Conduct

We believe that a Christian should live for the glory of God and the well-being of others; that their conduct should be blameless before the world; that they should be faithful stewards of their possessions; and that they should seek to realize for themselves and others the full stature of maturity in Christ. (1 Peter 1:14-16; 2 Corinthians 5:17)

Gender

We believe that God created humans in His image, intentionally and immutably male and female.  Rejection of one’s biological gender is a rejection of the image of God within that person. (Genesis 1:27)

Life

We believe that human life is created by God in His image. It is of infinite worth and significance in all its dimensions, including the preborn, the aged, the mentally disabled, the physically challenged, and every other condition in which humanness is expressed from single cell stage of development to natural death. (Psalms 139:13-14)

Marriage and Sexuality

We believe that the institution of marriage is a sacred covenant designed by God.  The term “marriage” has only one meaning: the uniting of one man and woman in an exclusive union.  Marriage is intended by God to be a lifelong relationship.  We believe that God has commanded that no intimate sexual activity be engaged in outside of marriage.  We believe that any form of sexual immorality is sinful. (Matthew 15:18-20, 19:46; 1 Corinthians 6:9-10)

The Return

We believe in the personal and visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ to earth and the establishment of His kingdom.  We believe in the resurrection of the body, the final judgment, the eternal joy of the righteous, and the endless suffering of the lost. (1 Thessalonians 4:13-18; Ecclesiastes 12:14; Revelation 10:10)

Philosophy of education

God is truth.  The purpose of Christian Education is the application of this truth to all of life.  In His sovereign grace God has revealed truth to us through the Written Word, the Bible, the Living Word, Jesus Christ, and the World that he has created.  The Bible is inerrant, literal and our source of absolute truth.  Moral truth is objective, absolute, and dependent only upon the unchanging Word of God.  In a world where everything seems to change, God and His Word remain as the only constant.

Man is naturally sinful and incapable of knowing God or eternally improving himself.  Yet, man was created in the image of God, to be eternal, rational and holy.  This ideal, destroyed by sin can only now be achieved through the redeeming work of Jesus Christ, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, and the personal acceptance of God’s free gift of salvation.

Christian Education, dependent upon the atoning work of Christ and regeneration of the Holy Spirit, seeks to renew the mind, mold the spirit, and nurture the soul of each student.  By pursuing academic excellence, personal discipline and godly devotion, our goal is to mold Christian character in our students so that they are capable of standing firm in an increasingly godless society.

True education is gaining God’s perspective and integrating it into all aspects of instruction.  Our ultimate teacher is the Holy Spirit who will enable, illuminate and guide each teacher and student into all truth.

The parent is God’s chosen authority in the raising of a child.  It is the school’s responsibility to work in unison with the parent complementing and encouraging their biblically-based morality, values, and beliefs.

Our commitment is to teach with dignity and respect for the individual, recognizing that each child is a unique, chosen, and beloved creation of God.  We will strive to give each child a sense of his own identity as a servant of a sovereign God, living according to an unseen but eternal reality.
